06.24.13 |
Lebanon Valley College's Suzanne H. Arnold Art Gallery presents the "Figure and Function: Selections from the Permanent Collection" art exhibit July 5 to August 11. The exhibit opens with a public reception Friday, July 5 from 5-7 p.m., prior to the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra's concert on the College's Academic Quad.

"Figure and Function" serves as a survey of the various depictions of the human figure found within the Gallery's permanent collection. Works range from realistic depictions of the human figure to loose abstractions and cover a wide range of media, including painting, drawing and sculpture. The exhibition features American, European, African, Asian, and Inuit art.

An LVC art and art history major from Boyertown, David Yasenchak '13, was the gallery's spring intern and assumed the role of curator of the summer exhibit. After graduating from LVC in May, Yasenchak intends to continue creating art, work in an art gallery or a similar establishment, and apply to graduate programs in painting and drawing or interdisciplinary studies.

Summer Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m., and by appointment. For more information, contact the Gallery at,, or 717-867-6445.
