Art Exhibition
“Unnatural Disorder: Prints by Sue Coe”
Producing some of the most important sociopolitical artwork today, Sue Coe explores humankind’s relationship to the natural environment. The exhibition will investigate death and destruction caused by war, apartheid, cruelty to animals, rape and the victimization of women, and corporate greed and indifference brought about by power and wealth. Coe’s prints are reminiscent of work by Francisco Goya and Kathe Kollwitz.

“Politics, Protest, & Happiness”

Woodrow Wilson Fellow and artist, illustrator, and humanitarian Robert Shetterly will present on a series of topics during his week of residence at LVC. Shetterly has illustrated more than 30 books, including a series of portraits called “Americans Who Tell the Truth” that is currently showing across the United States.

Humorous and tragic, this film is set in Europe during World War II. A man with a sense of humor uses his gift of laughter to help his son survive imprisonment in a Nazi concentration camp.

Philadelphia Brass
The Philadelphia Brass was formed in 1988 by professional musicians of Eastern Pennsylvania to pursue their common goals: performing the best of brass quintet literature of all periods and styles, and educating the public to the pleasures, subtleties, and complexities of chamber music. The concert is made possible through the generosity of Newton '32 and Adelaide '43 Burgner. Through their estate, the couple established the Burgner Endowed Fund for Chamber Music which will bring chamber music events to campus each year.
