Constant Recourse
This Philadelphia-based group performs dynamic and memorable rock music for people who care about lyrics. Constant Recourse layers electronic elements onto a solid acoustic-pop-rock backdrop. HAPPINESS Colloquium Film*
“Rebuilding Hope” (2009)
After fleeing war-torn Sudan as children, Gabriel Bol-Deng and two other men return home to reunite with family and rebuild. This documentary follows their work to educate their people and provide hope for peace and a better future after war. This film will be shown in conjunction with the presentation “Rebuilding Hope in Sudan” to be held September 11.

Sustained Interfaith Dialogue: Gender
Community members and students are invited to join a discussion regarding gender in relation to a variety of faith communities. Respondents include representatives from Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim and Agnostic/Atheist communities. Comedian Tom Cotter
In the past year Tom Cotter filmed a half-hour special for Comedy Central, won the grand prize at the Boston Comedy Festival, and was voted “Best Stand-Up” at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival. This comedian’s high-energy routine has his audiences rolling in the aisles.

J.R. Martinez: “Facing Adversity with Optimism & Resilience”
Actor, spokesperson, and Iraq war hero J.R. Martinez will offer a message of hope, optimism, and resilience. While he was deployed in Iraq in 2003, Martinez’s Humvee hit a land mine causing him to suffer burns to more than 40 percent of his body. After 34 months of recovery, Martinez and his dance partner took home ABC's 2011 “Dancing with the Stars” mirror ball trophy, was named as the 2012 Tournament of Roses Parade Grand Marshal, and was featured on the cover of People magazine as one of the 25 Most Intriguing People of the Year. This event is presented by Cornwall Manor and hosted by LVC. Tickets range from $25 to $40 and can be purchased at www.ticketweb.com.
