LVC welcomes back Joshua Fairfield of the Washington and Lee University School of Law for a discussion on virtual currency. Fairfield spoke at LVC two years ago as part of the Colloquium Series on WIRED, and is an expert on the emerging field of internet law.

Modernist Prints: 1900–1950
This exhibition is comprised of artwork spanning the early modern period, a time of innovative experimentation in a rapidly changing world. It will include the work of such distinguished European artists as Picasso, Kandinsky, and Miro; and the work of American artists Marin, Davies, and Avery.

Symphony Orchestra and John Sant’Ambrogio, cello
Alumnus John Sant’Ambrogio ’54 will return to campus to perform with the LVC Symphony Orchestra and will play a selection that he played as a student. Sant’Ambrogio has enjoyed an illustrious career as a cellist in top orchestras, chamber music ensembles, and as a pedagogue for more than five decades.

Philip Goodchild, a professor at the University of Nottingham and author of The Theology of Money and Religion and Capitalism, will speak on religion and capitalism. He is considered one of the most visionary philosophers of religion in the world and will make the case that money functions like a god in contemporary society.
