Functional Description: The Vice President for Administration and Information Technology has overall responsibility for the college's computer and telecommunications operations and services. The Vice President heads the IT Services management team that also includes the Director of Information Management Services, the Director of Client Services and the Director of Technical Services.

Major Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Guides the development of a long-range plan for information technology services at the college.
  • Advises the president on matters related to information technology.
  • Establishes standards for computers, networking and telecommunications equipment and related items.
  • Fosters a widespread awareness of good computer ethics within the campus community.
  • Oversees the purchase of information technology products and services.
  • Assures adequate training is available to the users of information technology services.
  • Administers the information technology budgets.
  • Manages the IT Services staff.
  • Provides appropriate opportunities for the professional development of the IT Services staff.
  • Assures satisfactory security and backup of the information the college stores on the central servers.
  • Supervises the administration of keys and passenger vehicles.

Principal Internal Working Relationships: Students, faculty and staff.

External Working Relationships: Vendors.

Direct Reports: Director of Information Management Services, Director of Client Services, Director of Special Services, Director of Technical Services.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree.
