We're known as one of America's best colleges.
U.S.News & World Report, one of America's leading news magazines, ranked LVC among the top tier of colleges and universities in the category of "Best Universities Master's in the North."
For research. Few small colleges in the United States offer
students more exposure to high-tech equipment and hands-on research than Lebanon Valley
Over the past ten years, we've won research grants worth more than $1 million, from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health, Dow Chemical Company Foundation, Exxon Foundation, and Merck/AAAS. Recent NSF grants helped us build our state-of-the-art molecular modeling lab and purchase an atomic force microscope. Over the years, more than half of our graduates in the sciences have earned advanced degrees and Ph.D.s. Best of all, our faculty members work jointly with students on research projects in biology, biochemistry, physics, mathematics, and analytical, inorganic, and physical chemistry.
For technology. Students regularly use our computer network to
tap into hundreds of libraries and databases all over the world. Throughout campus,
computers are connected by a wireless and sophisticated fiber optic system. Whether you're working in
one of our academic buildings or relaxing in your room, you can travel the Internet, visit
our "virtual" library, or send messages around the world.
Other high-tech facilities include two music recording
studios, a music learning center with Yamaha electric pianos linked to computers, and a
full array of sophisticated research
equipment: an ISI scanning electron microscope; Zeiss transmission electron microscope; diode array spectrophotometer; neurophysiological work stations; a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer; gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer; atomic absorption spectrophotometer; and ultracentrifuge.
For easy access. Our beautiful tree lined campus is located
about 150 kilometers from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., and 225 kilometers
from New York City. On campus, our safe, small-town environment allows you to concentrate
on your studies and perfect your language skills. But, when you're in the mood to travel,
major cities are within an easy drive.
Our director of multicultural affairs will help you with immigration procedures, match you with a
local host family, arrange outings, and provide an orientation session just for
international students. By living on campus - a requirement of the college - you quickly
become part of our friendly community. Housing options include traditional residence halls, interest housing, suites, and apartments. Most students share a room with one other student. Furnishings include desks, chairs, beds,
draperies, and dressers. Free laundry facilities are also available.
For international students. At Lebanon Valley College, we try to
make your transition to our country and to our campus community as easy as possible. Our professors are
particularly welcoming to students from around the world.
