President Thayne, it is my great pleasure to bring greetings to you this afternoon on behalf of the faculty of Lebanon Valley College. We are a dedicated group of teachers, scholars, performers and artists. We have known generations of students. We have celebrated their success, and sought to challenge them to be ready for a diverse and fragile world, even as they have challenged and changed us through the years. We believe in this school, its history and its mission. And though the ground of higher education is being transformed underneath our feet, we have confidence in LVC’s future—a future that you yourself will no doubt determine by what promises to be a bold vision. On this auspicious day, we bring our years of collective service to this school and its students, we bring our dedication to teaching, our training and expertise, and we join with you to help realize the future of Lebanon Valley College.
