Physician Services
A physician or physicians assistant is in the Health Center several hours per week. Because the practitioners are only here a short time each day, appointments are necessary. Appointments are made after seeing one of the nursing staff. This initial nursing appointment helps gather all the background information necessary for the doctor's appointment to go smoothly. It also gives the nursing staff an opportunity to recommend students go to the ER if the problem is urgent. If the nursing staff does not offer you a doctor's appointment, please feel free to request one if you think this is necessary. There is no additional charge for the doctor or nursing appointment.
Please make an appointment Monday-Friday through the nursing staff at least one hour before the scheduled clinic time. If a student sees a non-College physician or is referred to another physician, needs a lab test, or is given a prescription to be filled at a local pharmacy, the costs must be paid by the student or by the student's insurance.
