When is the camp?
The Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Camp will be held from June 23-28, 2013.

How much does the camp cost to attend?
The camp fee is $900. This includes lodging, meals, laboratory supplies, lecture materials, evening activities, and a camp T-shirt.
Who is eligible to attend the Health and Biomedical Sciences Camp?
The camp is designed for rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.
When is the application deadline?
There is no formal application deadline, but applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Because the number of spaces is limited (in order to facilitate close collaborations between students, faculty, guest speakers and resident advisors), it is advised that applications be submitted as soon as possible. When the camp is full, registration will close.
When and how will I be notified if I have been accepted to the camp?
Notification of camp acceptance will be sent via email as soon as applications have been reviewed. Accompanying a notification of acceptance will be instructions for the submission of payment, as well as a request for information regarding medication, allergies and/or special needs or accommodations of the camper.
Is financial aid available?
A full tuition scholarship is available for an underrepresented student in the STEM disciplines. Underrepresented groups include women, African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans and Native Americans. What is the refund and cancellation policy?
Full refunds will be issued for camper cancellation before May 23; from May 23-June 2, there will be a 50% refund. No refunds will be offered for camper cancellation after June 2, 2013. In the unlikely event of camp cancellation, full refunds will be issued.
When will I arrive at and depart from camp?
Check-in time will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, and check-out will be at noon on Friday, June 28.
What do I need to bring with me to camp?
Students should bring linens, towels, toiletries, clothes, etc. Computer access will be provided for all camp activities, however, students are welcome to bring their own laptop or tablet if they wish. Although all meals will be provided, campers may wish to bring snacks and/or drinks to keep in their dorm room. The cost of all activities and meals is included with camp tuition, but campers may wish to bring money for bookstore purchases or souvenirs. Additional information about what to bring to camp will be forwarded upon notification of acceptance to the camp.
Who will be supervising campers in the dormitories? Will the campers be safe?
Campers will live in a college residence hall with Resident Advisors. Resident Advisors are current science majors at Lebanon Valley College who have been selected by the Camp Director based upon their expertise in the sciences, as well as their maturity and experience mentoring younger students. The dormitory will be locked at all times, Lebanon Valley College public safety officers are on duty 24 hours a day seven days a week, and the Camp Director may be contacted at any time by Resident Assistants.
What will happen in case of an emergency?
Parents/guardians will be contacted in case of any injury or illness to their child. In emergency situations, the safe transport of campers to the nearest hospital will be ensured.
Will this camp help prepare my child for college?
Yes! The Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Camp is designed to enhance campers’ knowledge of the scientific basis of human health, stimulate their critical thinking skills and offer them a glimpse of college life.
