Montgomery GI Bill - Ch 30
The Montgomery GI Bill® Active Duty (Chapter 30) program provides up to 36 months of education benefits, depending upon eligibility and all payments are made directly by the VA. Chapter 30 monthly benefit payments are based on the the type of training the student is taking, the length of service, the number of dependents, whether or not the student is eligible to receive kickers or participates in the buy-up program and active duty status.
For more information regarding Chapter 30 education benefits, including how to apply and the monthly benefit rates, visit the following website: http://www.gibill.va.gov/benefits/montgomery_gibill/active_duty.html.
Please note that payments will not be made during periods that the student is not attending classes. For example, if the Fall term ends on December 15th and the Spring term begins on January 10th, the January housing allowance will cover 15 days in December and the February housing allowance will cover 21 days in January.
