Facilities Services
Routine Requests
Work orders can be generated by sending an
e-mail
message to Facilities Services, by completing an
on-line
work order, or by submitting a traditional paper work order form through regular campus
mail.
From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays (7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the summer),
contact facilities services at Ext. 6340 or 867-6340.
After hours, call the Public Safety Office at Ext. 6111 or 867-6111 to report a problem
requiring immediate attention. Public safety will contact the appropriate person "on
call." Personnel from maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds are available to
respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Note: On Saturday and Sunday there is a housekeeper on campus for
emergencies. Call public safety for assistance.
Maintenance

and the electrical, plumbing, and other systems that service them. The director of maintenance is responsible for the department
and supervises two carpenters, a plumber, two HVAC (heating, ventilation and
air conditioning) specialists, an electrician, a painter, a utility person, and
a half-time mechanic.
Grounds
The Grounds Department is responsible for the maintenance of the campus
grounds including athletic fields. This department also provides support for
setting up events as well as mail pickup and delivery. The director of grounds supervises the five full-time and one
half-time personnel who make up the department.
Housekeeping
The director of housekeeping and her staff are
responsible for cleaning the more than 50 buildings that make up the college
campus.
Recycling
LVC is actively involved in recycling cardboard, office
paper, aluminum, and plastic and metal containers. Scrap iron and miscellaneous
metals are also recycled. Items of scrap metal may be thrown in a special
container labeled "Scrap Metals" located in the facilities services parking
lot.
