The science and mathematics programs at LVC offer students
modern laboratories with an extensive collection of state-of-the-art instrumentation
and equipment which includes:
- $200,000 superconducting nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer
- $100,000 molecular modeling laboratory (SGI Indigo workstations and
PowerMacs)
- $40,000 atomic force and scanning tunneling microscope
- $40,000 scanning electron microscope
- gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer
- gamma ray spectrometer
- an atomic absorption spectrophotometer
- gradient liquid chromatograph
- classroom equipped with 17 networked Pentium PCs running Windows 95
and Linux
- networked labs with diverse computers
- student-administered Linux and Windows NT Server 4 systems
