Services

The Lebanon Valley College staff understands that your college experience may present personal and transitional challenges, as well as opportunities for growth. Our counseling services are designed to promote a holistic view of wellness in mind, body and spirit. Students seek counseling for a variety of issues, some of which include:

-Academic difficulties
-Alcohol/Drug concerns
-Anger Management
-Anxiety
-Depression
-Difficulty Concentrating

-Eating disorders
-Family problems
-Homesickness
-Lack of Assertiveness
-Relationship issues
-Stress

In addition, the counseling staff periodically offers outreach programs in the resident halls to discuss issues that have an impact on the lives of college students. Some of these programs address the following topics:

-Adult children of alchoholics
-Assertiveness workshops
-Conflict resolution
-Date rape prevention
-Death and loss
-Sexuality
-Stress management

Staff

The counseling staff is comprised of one counseling psychologist and one social worker who specializes in drug and alcohol issues. The counselors provide short-term, goal-oriented therapy for individuals, couples and groups. All counseling sessions are 40-50 minutes long and confidential.

Appointments & Fees

Counseling Services are located on the second floor of the Shroyer Health Center. Appointments can be made Monday-Friday during the academic year by calling ext. 6696 or ext. 6232. There are no additional fees for counseling sessions.
