Community Service

Preparing for a Life of Service to Others

The Office of Community Service and Volunteerism directly supports the College's mission "to prepare students for a life of service to others" by (1) providing LVC students with incentives for service and (2) organizing opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to serve together.

Certainly, service is its own reward. Additionally, LVC provides encouragement by granting three community service awards-bronze, silver, and gold-which may be included in one's personal profile on LVC's Job Center. Let prospective employers know that you are someone who cares about the community!

The links on this page will provide you with detailed information about (1) the service awards program, (2) contacting area agencies, and (3) opportunities for service. Whether you want to work with children, the elderly, the environment, animals, health care, or otherwise, there are opportunities for you to get involved and to give back to your community while furthering your educational pursuits at the College.

Should you need help planning a community service project, feel free to contact me at fullmer@lvc.edu or (717) 867-6135.

We've all been positively impacted by volunteers in one way or another. As a student, you could have the same impact. We hope to have the opportunity to help you do so.
