Parking Information for Commencement

Baccalaureate Ceremony begins at 9 a.m.
Commencement Ceremony begins at 11 a.m.

Welcome to Lebanon Valley College’s 145th Commencement Exercises! We are pleased to welcome family and friends to campus for this important event. Below you will find information and suggestions on how to best navigate campus and find parking. We strongly recommend that you plan to arrive early for the ceremonies. We expect nearly 4,000 people on campus that day. You will find it more convenient and expedient to get from parking to the Commencement Site the earlier you arrive on campus.

The best visitor parking is available in the LVC Sports Center parking lots, located on the north side of campus. From these parking lots, the Commencement Site (on the Academic Quadrangle) is a five-minute walk. Buses also will be available to take guests to and from the Commencement Exercises. Bus pick-up and drop-off locations will be clearly marked.

For those who need to drop off elderly or special needs guests before parking at the Arnold Sports Center, we will permit a limited number of cars to access East Sheridan Avenue via Route 934 in order to drop off those passengers. Drivers wishing to do so must enter East Sheridan Avenue from Route 934, and must show a College-issued placard on their rear view mirror. These placards are available in the Office of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education in Humanities 107 (open Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) and can be obtained by graduating students. After special-needs passengers have been dropped off on Sheridan Avenue, drivers will be directed back out onto 934 and north toward the Arnold Sports Center parking lot. On a limited basis, exceptions will be made for those drivers who have a handicapped-driver’s pass, also available through the College’s Office of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education. In the event of indoor commencement exercises, handicap parking will be in the first rows of parking outside Arnold Sports Center.

East Sheridan Avenue will be closed to all traffic at 10:40 a.m. in order to clear the road for the faculty and student processional route.

Please refer to the campus map and the 2014 Commencement Site Map to acquaint yourself in more detail with site locations, including parking sites and traffic flow plans.
