As Australia's second largest city, boasting a population of almost 4 million, Melbourne offers an amazing lifestyle for college students. There is a thriving live music and cultural scene, and close proximity to bayside beaches and adventurous outdoor activities. Sydney and Tasmania are only one hour away by plane.
There is a mandatory set of pre-departure orientations at LVC for all students planning to participate in the program. Students also attend an on-site orientation at Monash University.
Housing and Meals
LVC students will attend the Clayton campus at Monash University. Students live in single-room residence halls, and linens are provided. Students are responsible for their own meals. Kitchens are located in each residence hall to prepare your food, or students can eat in one of the several cafeterias on campus.
On meeting the stated prerequisites, LVC students will individually select four courses from the university's "2nd semester" offerings. Students will earn four credits per course, for a maximum of 16 credits during the semester.

Travel, food, and personal expenses are NOT included in these fees. Fees subject to change. Expect to spend about $1,500** for round-trip airfare.
*Institutional aid is limited to a maximum of 33% for the Australia study abroad program. Scholarships are available to students to help off-set the additional cost to Vickroy scholarship earners.
**LVC will provide a $400 airfare subsidy for all students attending the Australia program.
Fall semester only
- Applications should be received by March 15.
- $25 program deposit is due with application.*
- Accepted students owe $475 program deposit.*
- Packet of forms is due by April 15.
- Fall semester in Australia (approx. 16 credits): Mid-July to mid-November
* The $500 program deposit will be credited to the student's account in the Business Office for the start of the off-campus semester. The $500 deposit will be forfeited on student withdrawal from the program.
Language of Instruction
Students from any major who are in good academic (3.0 GPA) and social standing may apply.
A few recommended academic courses offer field trips to appropriate sites in and beyond Melbourne city. Weekend excursions are also offered through the International Office at Monash.
