President's Innovation Fund
A primary institutional goal for Lebanon Valley College is “to create a demonstrably superior academic and co-curricular experience for our students that prepares graduates for successful performance in the competitive national and international market.” In order to nurture an environment of innovation and excellence, the College is committed to enhancing new and distinctive educational opportunities for our students. The President’s Innovation Fund was created to encourage distinctive pilot projects. These projects have long-term, wide-reaching potential for fostering transformative learning on and off campus.
Up to $100,000 will be awarded within three categories of funding:
- Innovative Programming that enhances the educational experience of our students or programs. Proposals should demonstrate the potential for transformational learning (for students and faculty) through distinctive, innovative pedagogical practices, and curricular/co-curricular programming that enhances student learning.
- Collaborative Programming is intended to encourage innovative collaborative teaching and learning experiences between disciplines and programs. This could include collaborative projects between academic and student affairs, team-taught courses, or external community partnerships.
- Program Enhancement Funding is intended to improve programs and/or initiatives based on assessment results. (For example, a department/program analyzed the results of a recent assessment process and decides that action steps are needed to improve written communication skills in the major. The department might request funds to bring in a consultant from another institution to work with the department on improving this department goal. The department might also ask for funds to have representative faculty attend a workshop at a disciplinary conference covering this topic.)
