05.29.13 |
The Lebanon Valley Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) gave four graduating LVC seniors the gift of a one-year membership in the AAUW. The “Give a Grad a Gift” event was held Monday, May 6 in Lynch Memorial Hall. The four seniors included Kelly Fahnestock, a psychology and sociology double major from Carlisle, Rebecca Derbes, a health science and sociology double major from Pottsville, Adrienne Gemberling, a biology major from Mifflinburg, and Alyssa Kulp, a biology major from Perryville, Md.

McKenna Snyder ’14, an English and sociology double major from Elizabethtown, shared her experiences at the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) with the group. Snyder was the recipient of a PA AAUW scholarship that enabled her to attend the leadership conference in the summer of 2012.

The local AAUW branch has awarded a total of 11 memberships—four memberships in 2012–2013 and three in 2011-2012, the first year LVC participated.
