Dr. Michael L. Fink Honored by the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association

Dr. Michael L. Fink, assistant professor of physical therapy at Lebanon Valley College, received the Carlin-Michels Achievement Award from the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association on Oct. 26. The award recognizes members of the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association who are outstanding among other members and have provided exemplary service.

In addition to his work at LVC, where he created and teaches the Musculoskeletal Imaging module, Fink teaches within the Program on Education in Human Structure at Penn State College of Medicine. His areas of research include medical screening/differential diagnosis, manual therapy, and injury prediction in athletes.

A U.S. Air Force physical therapist and combat veteran from 2001-2009, Fink last served as the officer in charge of the cadet physical therapy clinic. Currently, he is a manuscript reviewer for national and international peer reviewed physical therapy journals and the World Confederation of Physical Therapy. He has authored several publications in areas of orthopedics, sports, and primary care, is the founder of Pearl Clinical Education LLC, and a part-time clinician. Fink is an APTA credential clinical instructor, and was elected as a member of the association’s Committee on Content Experts in Sports Specialty in 2007, followed by the Board of Directors for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2009. He is a mentor and consultant to orthopedic residencies and fellowship programs in Central Pennsylvania, along with the military sports medicine residency program in New York.
