Matt Glowacki to Discuss Diversity at Lebanon Valley College
04.02.13 |
"Diversity Professional" Matt Glowacki will speak at Lebanon Valley College's Leedy Theater of the Mund College Center on Thursday, Apr. 4 at 11 a.m. as part of the Colloquium Series on HAPPINESS. Admission to the presentation is free and open to the public.

Touring the country to give presentations, Glowacki talks to audiences of all ages about three sectors that are of particular interest to him: "able-ism," "look-ism," and racism. He wants to help people understand the dangers of words used in labeling others and that everyone is similar despite outward appearances.

Although Matt Glowacki was born without legs, that didn't slow him down. He studied at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he developed and administered a community awareness program called "What It Takes: Cornerstones for Success." Today, he enjoys being a "Diversity Professional" and speaking to different groups of people about what is important to him.

HAPPINESS is a year-long integrated series of guest speakers, roundtable discussions, films and courses that will consider the meaning and importance of happiness as a psychological, physiological, social and cultural phenomenon. It involves presentations by speakers from a number of disciplines who approach the theme from the standpoints of the arts, the wellness of body and mind, the demands of a consumer economy, the expectations and duties of political life, and the broad philosophical questions of human flourishing.
