Lebanon Valley College will celebrate Memorial Day again this year with Annville’s 22nd Annual Memorial Day Parade, which is billed as the largest Memorial Day parade in the state. The parade’s path winds through LVC’s campus on College Ave., and the College will host veterans for a post-parade luncheon in Mund College Center.

College president Lewis Evitts Thayne, Ph.D., and his wife, Dorry, will represent LVC in the parade. In previous parades, College veterans have walked together, Dr. Jim Scott has played the bagpipes, and Dr. Kevin Pry has spoken at the memorial service. Numerous LVC students, alumni, faculty, and staff participate in various parade units or enjoy the parade from the streets of Annville.

This year’s parade will feature the Pennsylvania National Guard's 56th Stryker Brigade. Though the 56th is the featured participant, the parade honors all military veterans - active-duty and reserve and those who served in peacetime as well as wartime.

The parade steps off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, and a 30-minute memorial service will be held at the conclusion of the parade at the reviewing stand at Maple and Long streets.
