Sharon Sees '17 Published in NPR's "This I Believe" Series

Lebanon Valley College health science and Spanish double major Sharon Sees '17 wrote an essay for a creative writing assignment in Dr. Cathy Romagnolo's English 112 class about the death of her brother. Sees submitted the essay, "Long Car Rides," to NPR's "This I Believe" project - a public dialogue about belief, one essay at a time.

On June 27, 2014, Sees learned that her essay had been selected to publish as part of the project. "Writing the essay was such a unique and wonderful experience," Sees said.

"I remember my brother and I falling asleep on the way home from Grandma’s when I was little, a two hour drive. I would rest my head against the window, the houses zooming by. Each neighborhood looked different from the last–different architecture, different landscapes, different zip codes—yet they always had something similar, cozy, familiar..." Click here to continue reading.
