Wig and Buckle Theater Company Presents Fourth Annual Showcase
01.21.14 |
The Wig and Buckle Theater Company at Lebanon Valley College will host a showcase Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. in Leedy Theater of the Mund College Center. A suggested $5 donation will support the Company’s theatrical endeavors; admission is open to the public.

The showcase will feature more than 25 student performers and faculty advisor Dr. Kevin Pry, associate professor of English. The show uses select musical numbers, monologues, and short scenes to highlight Wig and Buckle’s tradition of high quality work.

Student choreographer and performer Kara Jones '16 shared her enthusiasm for the annual event, which began as the “75th Anniversary Cabaret” in the 2010-2011 season. "Being part of the showcase as a performer and the choreographer has been such an amazing and unforgettable experience.”

In addition to performing in the show and her role as the company’s head of front of house, Larissa Eriksen '16 is also part of the production staff. “We have a lot of talented performers and a lot of eclectic performances, including some acted pieces which is a new addition,” she said. “I can't wait for our patrons to see what talent the company has!”

This is the fourth year Wig and Buckle has presented the showcase. Since then, the showcase has been presented in a variety of formats, but has consistently served as a collaborative project for members of the theater company. This year’s featured group numbers include “Live in Living Color” and “Run, Freedom Run.”

Wig and Buckle was founded in 1935 and is student directed and entirely student-run. The company will also present David Auburn’s “Proof,” directed by Anthony Hoover '14 in February, and Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House,” directed by Dee Bogert '14 in April. More information at
