Lebanon Valley College joins schools across the nation in celebration of College Colors Day on Friday, August 31. Dutchmen alumni, students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to don LVC blue and white to demonstrate their Valley pride, enter to win great prizes, and receive discounts across campus.
“College Colors Days is a chance for the entire LVC community to come together and show their pride,” LVC president Lewis Thayne said. “I look forward to seeing blue and white dotted across the quad, in the dining hall, and in the classrooms during this final day of the first week of the academic year.”
All participants are encouraged to share their photos on the College Facebook page or by tweeting a picture with the hashtag #LVCcolors to @LVC. Three winners will be selected from the alumni, student, and staff photo entries to receive a gift certificate to the College Store.
The College Store is celebrating College Colors Days with a sale on all LVC t-shirts. Get your gear for the big day now through August 31 and save 25 percent. You can also stop by Intermetzo Café in Lynch on College Colors Day to receive 10 percent off your entire order just for sporting your favorite LVC swag.
Wearing blue and white on Friday to participate in College Colors Days is a great way for Dutchmen to kick off the fall athletic season, as men’s soccer plays their first home game of the 2012-2013 year. The team will face Penn State Harrisburg at 5 p.m.
A yearly event sponsored by the Collegiate Licensing Company, College Colors Day event is an annual celebration dedicated to promoting the overall college experience by encouraging people across America to wear apparel featuring the school colors of their favorite college or university. It coincides nationally with many “back to school” events and the first football weekend of the 2012 season for numerous schools. Approximately 200 schools participate in the event.
Initiated by Collegiate Licensing Company in partnership with NCAA Football, College Colors Day serves as a means to increase public awareness about the achievements and contributions of higher education.
