Davis Brooks Presents Free Concert Tuesday, Sept. 10

Dr. Davis Brooks, professor of violin at Butler University, will perform a concert at Lebanon Valley College on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Zimmerman Recital Hall. His performance is free and open to the public.

The concert, which Brooks will perform in celebration of his study with Russell ‘37 and Nancy Hatz ‘36, will include several selections such as “Caprice No. 1” by Mark O’Connor, “The Stream Flows” by Bright Sheng, and “Lines from Poetry” by Ronald Caltabiano, among others.

Currently the associate concertmaster of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Brooks has had orchestral affiliations with the New York Chamber Symphony, the Mostly Mozart Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra of New England. He also served as concertmaster of the Harrisburg and Waco Symphonies, and is currently a member of the Linden String Quartet and the Indianapolis Chamber Players.

Brooks is active in various commercial recording studios in the Indianapolis areas, and recently released “Violin and Electronics,” an album of violin and electronic media.
