Join Maestro Stuart Malina and the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra in celebrating our country's independence during the 2012 Summer Concert Series with music for the whole family. The free concert will be at Lebanon Valley College on the Academic Quad on Friday, June 29 at 8 p.m. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Lutz Hall of the Blair Music Center.
This is the fifth consecutive year LVC has hosted the symphony for a free summer concert. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and blanket, and enjoy an evening of wonderful patriotic music under the stars.
The HSO will perform "Olympic Fanfare" in recognition of the upcoming summer Olympics; music from "Carmen"; selections from "The Sound of Music"; "Sing Sing Sing"; and "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." A 4th of July concert would not be complete without Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," "Stars & Stripes Forever," and "Salute to the Armed Forces."
The symphony's 2012–2013 season, "Live the Music," is just around the corner and subscriptions are available to both their Masterworks and Capital BlueCross Pops series. For more information or to subscribe today, please call 717-545-5527 or visit HarrisburgSymphony.org.
